Projects Under Construction

Two reference projects are under construction with different feedstocks, scales, and products.

Twelve’s “first-of-its-kind” facility, AirPlant, broke ground in September 2023.
AirPlant will produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from biogenic CO₂, water, and renewable energy sources (also known as “Power-to-Liquid” or “e-Fuel”).

EFT Development Facility, Tulsa, Oklahoma

Groundbreaking Ceremony

EFT provides technology for the Fischer-Tropsch reactor & upgrading unit to produce finished fuel.
5 barrels per day production from late summer 2025.

This project will provide energy security and employment to the indigenous people living 50km from the Arctic Circle.
EFT is providing reformer, Fischer-Tropsch reactor catalyst, and upgrading unit technology to produce finished low-carbon diesel from stranded natural gas.
Feedstock–sourced from a natural gas well.
625 barrels per day production targeted for late summer 2026.

E-Fuel Licensees

Their Project GENESIS extracts CO2 and hydrogen from seawater to create feedstock for jet fuel synthesis in deployable units. This process aims to produce SAF for military and commercial applications.

Sora Fuel develops sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from just air, water, and renewable energy. By combining carbon capture and utilization into a single process, they dramatically reduce the amount of energy required to produce SAF, enabling a truly affordable, carbon-negative drop-in solution.

Nordic Electrofuel AS will build one of Europe’s first commercial Power-to-Liquid jet fuel plant at Herøya, Porsgrunn, Norway. The plant will produce high-quality, carbon-neutral, synthetic fuels and other fossil replacement products, based on water, CO2, and renewable power.

Biomass Licensees/MOUs

Based in Vancouver, Canada, Highbury Energy produces negative carbon intensity fuels from diverse biomass feedstocks using its patented dual-fluidized-bed steam gasification technology. This process converts waste biomass into renewable fuel gas (RFG), a key feedstock for renewable diesel and SAF.

TerraStar Energy develops waste-to-energy facilities. They believe that deploying smaller plants closer to the feedstock and to the customer is a cost-effective solution to making renewable energy widely available. Using arrays of anaerobic digesters & gasifiers, their projects produce energy from various feedstocks at an affordable cost.

Based in Bernau am Chiemsee, Caphenia specializes in the conversion of methane and CO2 into high-quality synthesis gas, which serves as the basis for the production of hydrogen and renewable liquid fuels, especially SAF.

The Inuvialuit Petroleum Corporation (IPC) is developing the M-18 well with the construction of a plant that will produce synthetic diesel and natural gas, providing energy security and economic growth to the Inuvialuit people and reducing their carbon emissions.
